Some local hero around here has been stabbing ball point pens into the speakers on them.
I actively avoid any gas station that uses these.
Ads for gambling should be prohibited, just like those for tobacco and alcohol.
I bet they won’t be.
Are you saying ads for tobacco and alcohol are prohibited on gas pumps? Because ads for alcohol are all over every advertising medium in existence.
Depends on where you are.
Where I am, alcohol, tobacco and gambling were all prohibited in advertisement, then gambling had a pass (because those making the laws are most likely in the pockets of gambling execs), but it looks like it will get prohibited again.
Hey another reason I’m glad I don’t drive anymore.
We need more public transit, washability (*walkability), and protected bike lanes.
ETA: hah, great autocorrect, keeping it!
I’m fairly washable.
Hmm, I would hope so! Also added a correction.
You must have a really small tank. Last time I filled up (less than a week) it was over 120€ (50 liters)
All the pumps near me disabled the mute button years ago.
Bummerrrr
It do be like that tho
What a stupid fucking world to live in. Just break the speaker with a knife and pay it forward
They… they have ads in the gas pumps? Do you have to watch the ads before you are allowed to pump?
It’s during.
I have legit punched the screens, and pressed all the buttons so hard in, I’m suprised nothing broke.
When it’s obvious from the start you can just drive to a different station (for now), but when it sneaks up on me is when I get angry.
The pump at my regular gas station used to have a hidden mute button. Hold down the top right button next to the screen and voila no annoying ad noise.
After a a year of this they replaced the pumps and now I cant mute the ads anymore. Sad face.
And font forget!!! Your 75 dollars go to an Arab that works with isrealis to kill other Arab. Oh and they fuck little kids…
but what if you pay 75 for an actual tank?
$100… trump is a cancer on humanity’s asshole.
Awesome. I’ll keep making my stupid face until someone else does something to fix it.
Most gas pumps that do that have a way to mute them. It’s usually the second button from the top of the four on the right hand side. Sometimes it’s the top right button, but most of the time it’s the second one. Enjoy the silence. Oh, and also if you press and hold 2 on your microwave, you can turn the button pressing and beeping off. Silent microwave is the way to go.
Most gas stations in my area have disabled the hidden mute button.
That’s a bummer. Still works most times I try it here in San Diego.
Oh, and also if you press and hold 2 on your microwave, you can turn the button pressing and beeping off.
My microwave starts a 2 minute cycle. Do I have to hold the button until it’s done?
Hmm, it may be different from model to model, maybe give it a Google, but generally it’s just number 2 for only a couple seconds though.
