That 2 tablespoon serving shows me that i regularly eat 4 servings per sammich.
anybody else turned on by that crease in the pb dollop?
It’s the recommended serving sizes that are out of touch with reality.
I’m pretty sure that most of the time, you can’t see them with the naked eye.
Yeah, it should be illegal to list serving sizes that disconnected from reality. They should be MANDATED to have the first column list the nutrition information for the container as a whole, and then let them put whatever ridiculous lie, but it should only be allowed in a second column, that I can ignore after seeing the first column that shows what the container actually contains.
I don’t know how they do it elsewhere, but here in New Zealand, they put “per 100g” measurements on the labels which are really helpful.
Same in the EU. I believe 100g or 100ml is mandated, but then they can add a “per serving” table as well.
You guys get multiple servings from a jar?
A serving size of peanut butter is one.
One spoon.
One inch.
One jar.
etc.
This is why I serve my peanut butter in cheese wheel form. 1 inch thick but 18 inches wide.
Given that the most typical use is spreading it on a slice of bread, I’ll argue, no I’m not out of touch, everyone else is. When the “serving size” can’t fill the expected use case, it’s not the consumer that’s wrong
One slice is two servings, clearly.
