That prayer was pure poetry. You can state the exact opposite of what’s said in the christian bible and it makes perfect, rational sense.

If you do manage to create it, you’ll have trouble accessing or deleting it.

I still double-click the left corner every now and then. I’ve found myself using CTRL+INS and Shift+INS lately because CTRL+C/V keeps giving me very inconsistent results. Particularly in terminals. I remember using the the same hotkeys in MS-DOS editor.

Coffee and TV are the only things beating the last 5 years of inflation.

It’s because people keep finding ways around them and they evolve in nonsensical ways.

I self-host a DoH/DoT server and my local DHCP advertises it to local clients. It’s kinda cool because android phones on my wifi will use DoT when private DNS is set to “automatic”.
Private DNS sort-of broke while I was tinkering with internal/external IP addresses for nearby devices. It wouldn’t always connect when I specified my external IP (despite being available externally). I made it IPv6-only too. It wouldn’t be the first time something couldn’t handle it.

Yeah, it’s been getting harder as time goes on. It’s basically only pixels that are supported and still on the shelf.

It won’t be a problem on a de-googled phone. Get it running LineageOS or GrapheneOS. Then install F-Droid (and probably Aurora store too). Some Google junk won’t work, but you’ll soon be more limited by having Google services on your phone than not having it.
Do Americans think each country has their own way of measuring things?

Can’t afford the chequered stuff?

My family call it the “spaghetti box”.

I was tempted to run PoE to the other side of the wall where my server is. A doorbell that could do it all locally on my server.
Then I thought “fuck it” and bolted an antique brass bell there instead. At least you know it’s working.

I tick most of these boxes and still have a rotary landline phone in service.

I have immich running on a server that’s under the stairs. It’s a bit loud, but it’s out of the way. I can only access it over SSH.
For backups, I wrote a shell script to do it. I just plug in my external drive, run the script, and unplug it again. The next day I’ll swap the drive for one that I keep in my workplace locker. There’s also a mirrored RAID for the server. That’s 4 copies in total.
Yeah, it’s still a bit of work. I couldn’t imagine teaching anyone else how to do it.

Number of cumulative years they would be imprisoned for, had they been caught and convicted of every single crime they ever committed.
I’m betting most adults are not at zero.

OK, here’s how it happened.
I was hungry, and I wanted to see the menu for my local pizza joint. I couldn’t find it anywhere.
I discovered that all their socials linked to a website that wouldn’t load. When I checked, the domain had lapsed.
Out of frustration, I purchased the domain and pulled the last snapshot of their website off archive.org. It had their full menu as a PDF.
6 months later and it’s still getting visitors from their facebook page, who are viewing the menu. They haven’t even realised.

Host all the things!
Wordpress, SMTP/IMAP, tor, bittorrent, Nextcloud, Plex, NTP, photo galleries, DoT…
I even started hosting the website for my local Italian restaurant and they haven’t even realised it yet.
No idea. It’s notated in the article.
