so we sleep in cycles, usually a one full sleep cycle is about 90min. it starts with light sleep, and goes into deep sleep, then back to light sleep, repeat. deeper sleep begins around ~30min in.

if you wake up from light sleep you’ll feel more refreshed

if you wake up in the middle of deep sleep, you’ll need to do all that body booting up when already awake, and it certainly doesn’t feel refreshing

(that’s why a 15min nap can breathe new life into you, but a 40min nap will leave you more tired)

it’s best to aim your sleeping schedule to include sleep in the increments of around 90min, proper night of sleep should have you go through 4-6 cycles (6h, 7,5h, or 9h).

the 90min is just an average though, listen to your body and see how things work for you. for me personally, around 7h or 7,5h works perfectly
