That’s what I don’t get: people here complain about bots reposting from Reddit, but those posts are also just reposted from somewhere else usually…

But seriously, the game was never really dead. The community is quite active still, the subreddit has loads of monthly active users and it takes less than a minute to find games. Small balance changes and Updates still happen almost every month.
Blizzard has stopped supporting the pro scene years ago but that never stopped casual players from enjoying the game.

I like Diablo and unlike the old heads who don’t actually play the game, I think 3 was peak.
Sure, it wasn’t super difficult dark fantasy dungeon crawling like D2 but shit was fun, well designed and had good variety. It’s a good power fantasy of you being overpowered and killing hundreds of mobs and still getting nice power spikes in the form of rare items that actually make a difference unlike in 4.
Last expansion was this year (I had to look it up). Didn’t even remember it coming out.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•What are the books that radicalized you/ can radicalize you?English
5·29 days agoUnironically “Industrial Society and Its Future” by Ted Kaczynski.
I don’t agree with it at all. I think disabled people are people too, radical stance I know. But some points, especially about modern left and new technology becoming mandatory are well argued and true.
I always thought he was just a random looney and he’s definitely not. I think the book didn’t radicalize me but showed me what I believed to be true (that the guy was just a looney or evil) was wrong.
I don’t believe that the rise of technofascism can be stopped by hiding in the woods tho and I don’t think rejecting all tech will make everyone’s mental health immediately better, he does not at all take things like community and purpose into account.

If you like Sci-Fi and are open to something less extreme than Bret Easton Ellis I’d also recommend “Roadside Picknick” by Strugatsky bros. Or if you want something in a more similar direction but with a lot more cynicism “Post Office” by Charles Bukowsky.
“Road Side Picknick” is more existencial wtf. There is also an excellent film about it called “Stalker”.

16·1 month agoThe thing is: I would get them too if I could afford it.
For the headphone stuff which is quite cool tech actually, I don’t like wearing in ear headphones and they basically work as headphones without going into your ears. The Ai stuff seems honestly creepy but I’m sure they legally can’t force you to use it in Europe and the camera stuff seems okay.
