Few people are as consistently stressed as Tony Soprano. Sure, he’s got the big house, the big car, the ridiculously understanding wife, but he also has had to kill a few family members and more friends than is usually healthy. Once, he got a good friend indebted to him then burnt down his restaurant. All this while trying to keep two steps ahead of the feds. That lifestyle would age anyone.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•How do industries that provide goods like lumber or livestock maintain output when their goods take a long time to develop but get used/processed in a short period of time?
3·1 month agoThe law of supply and demand. If the demand starts to outstrip the supply the price will go up to compensate and reduce the demand. At the local level, imports can fill supply gaps. Demand isn’t really constant. The word used to describe it is elastic. For trees, they cut down however many they are going to. Replant, move to the next patch the next season and so on.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•This feels like a hateful and vulgar joke you would hear on Kill Tony or another Anti-Woke comedy podcast.English
3·1 month agoIs this bait? In what world is this transphobic? You could replace the punchline with any conspiracy and keep the joke. It isn’t punching down because the joke is at the expense of people who believe this not at the expense of people who are trans.

No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•I want to make a seafood boil but don't want to boil all the flavour away in a vat of water, would it turn out alright if I simmered it all in a bit of butter and old bay, spoon basting often?
2·1 month agoAs a substitute for water. I’m not very creative with food so seafood stock would be used in seafood gumbo and chicken stock in jambalaya, rice and gravy or chicken and sausage gumbo.

3·1 month agoYou can continue to cook down your used boil water to make a seafood stock. Throw in your shrimp and crab shells for maximum flavor. You shouldn’t be wasting too much seasoning either way though. I usually do a sack of crawfish in a pot that is not that much bigger than the sack. You only need a lot of water if you can’t heat the water quickly (like using a stove instead of a gas burner)

Yeah, she really was incredible when the writers gave her something to do.
