    What’s been going on with Konami recently? They actually went back to video games, and even made a few good ones. Now this? Seems like they’re going in the right direction, which is surprising these days.

    I’m not a full time game dev. The times I’ve tried using Godot I don’t know how much Gen AI lends itself to it. Unless you build an engine in scratch you’re mostly stitching visual + audio elements together. Anytime I’ve tried to use Gen AI for it it backfires spectacularly.

    Ethical concerns notwithstanding you need to be precise for animations to look legit and Gen AI just can’t do that. They often just look like garbage.

    The only thing it’s been useful for is asking questions of “how do I do X? Point me to documentation “. Woo?

    It already did by making it less affordable but what AI has definitely changed is the industry from the inside. By hollowing it out and driving young talent away from the big studios. But whatever happens next, people will continue to make and play games. One way or another. That will not change.

    DLSS 5 is just the down payment. Can you play rock, paper, scissors with AI? Or even better…can you play Chess with AI? Yeah, none of those games have great DLSS features, but it’s a start.

    Okay but Konami has been ruining their major IPs for a while. AI might have even done a better job than their recent offerings. I mean… Metal Gear Survive and Silent Hill Ascension are all the evidence I need. It’s hard to imagine saying human made content could be worse than AI generated content, but those two in the least present a pretty good case. I didnt pay for either and still feel robbed.
