Is JD Vance a craven political opportunist? A true believer in a post-Trump, MAGA agenda? Or is the presumptive 2028 GOP frontrunner waiting for the chance to be his own man? And what does his wife, Usha, think about all of it? The answers may lie in Vance’s pivotal years at Yale Law. Chris Whipple returns to the school—and talks to the VP’s professor and mentor, “Tiger Mom” Amy Chua.

        “Peter?”

        “Michael.”

“What do you know about If Books Could Kill?”

“Is it a podcast about the Supreme Court decisions that have left our nation flying blind like Malcolm Gladwell thinks all Korean aircraft pilots do?”

        “No, that’s your other show.”

Also, I was scrolling through past episodes, thinking “they have to do Liberal Fascism, they have to do Liberal Fascism…” and yep, there it is.

If they didn’t do it, I was set to find their contact info and plead with them to do that…I cannot tell you how many conservatives/Libertarians would insist I need to read it. It was like their newest go-to (for Libertarians, at least for a while, even supplanting Ayn Rand’s absurdly bad sci-fi) that supposedly set everything straight and put all the libz in their place.

And holy shit, everything about it was just as fucking stupid as the title itself. I’m not even sure I read it all the way through. I usually hate leaving a book as “DNF”, but I know I started to skim because that nepo baby is just not very smart in my view.
