      You can! Just go to the “place you buy earbuds” settings page and select “wired earbuds”. After I did that, the annoying warnings went away, and my earbuds gained infinite battery life!

        I would prefer that, yes. Also I would do that occasionally and not constantly.

        Furthermore, if they suddenly go silent, then I know what’s up and that it’s my fault for not charging before. But that is fine, because I am quite good at keeping the tech charged and ready that I use daily. I would prefer it much more for them to suddenly shut down than to annoy me for 3 hours that battery has reached less than 30%. Really infuriating especially with audiobooks.

        I want them to just turn off when the battery is gone.

        If they want to make a single low volume alert at some low level telling me how much battery remains, that’s an extra. Anything else is hostile bullshit.
